Frequently Asked Questions
Municipal pilots are offered at no cost for qualifying jurisdictions. County-wide and state pilots may involve shared infrastructure costs depending on the scale and integration requirements. In all cases, VoteSecured absorbs the majority of pilot costs including platform licensing, support staff, and training. There is never an obligation to proceed with a full deployment after the pilot concludes. Contact us for a detailed cost proposal tailored to your jurisdiction.
All data generated during the pilot, including mock election records and configuration data, is retained for 30 days after the pilot concludes to allow for final reporting and analysis. After that period, all data is securely destroyed using cryptographic erasure methods that meet NIST 800-88 standards. If you proceed to a full deployment, your pilot configuration and settings can be seamlessly migrated. You receive a certificate of data destruction for your records.
Pilot programs are designed as evaluation and validation exercises using mock elections with simulated or anonymized data. However, for jurisdictions that complete a successful pilot and obtain the necessary state certifications, VoteSecured can support a transition to a live election deployment. Several of our current production jurisdictions began with pilot programs that were extended into certified live deployments. Our team will work with you to understand your state's certification requirements and timeline.
Pilot programs are available to any government election authority, including city clerks, county election boards, and Secretary of State offices. To begin the process, contact our government relations team to schedule an initial consultation. We will assess your jurisdiction's requirements, current infrastructure, and goals to recommend the appropriate pilot tier. Typical lead time from initial contact to pilot kickoff is 2-4 weeks, depending on integration complexity.
